Dan has been building and restoring furniture for over ten years. Those who own a piece of furniture built or restored by Dan can testify to the quality of his work and his eye for detail - close enough is just not good enough!
We build each item to order - the customer has choices including...
- which timber - any Australian timber, subject to availability, recycled or supply your own. Non Australian timbers upon request and subject to availability.
- natural colour or stained.
- gloss or semi gloss finish
- we design for you or you bring your design to us - photos of something you like, drawings, sketches etc
Delivery can be arranged, as can collection of items for restoration.
Typically, when building Dan starts with rough sawn timber, dresses it, joins to make panels, sands, cuts to size and shape, assembles, sands again and then polishes, finishing by fiting knobs, handles or other hardware as required.
We build what the customer requires to the design/style/size/shape they require. Customers may provide the dimensions of what they require and we work to that. We may in some cases need to measure the space an item is required to fit, which we do in an onsite quote. |

Typically, when restoring pieces we completely dissemble, remove any existing finish/es, repair any damage, sand, reassemble, sand again if required, and polish.
We have a large range of handles/knobs/fittings available, covering a wide range of colours and styles made from various materials, eg brass, steel, timber.
We offer a range of timber stains to enhance and compliment whichever timbers we use. We encourage customers to view samples or existing items when choosing stains.
Gloss or semi-gloss finishes are available. Choice may be guided by the items purpose, matching existing furniture.
We operate from our workshop at 7275 New England Highway, Crows Nest Qld 4355 where we anticipate having a showroom built by the end of the year. Until then examples of our work and smaller pieces are able to be viewed adjacent our workshop, at the same address. |
